NetOp Remote Control v7.6 wins CeBIT Best Enterprise Systems Management Award

CrossTec's new NetOp Remote Control v7.6 has won the prestigious eWEEK/PC Magazine Best Enterprise Systems Management Award at the 2003 CeBIT America technology show in New York. In announcing the winners, NetOp was chosen by the panel of editors as standing "head and shoulders" above all other entrants in the category. NetOp impressed the editors with "new and innovative approaches to the high-tech needs and desires of the computing marketplace," according to Michael J. Miller, PC Magazine's editor-in-chief and Editorial Director of Ziff Davis Media.

Computer Power User calls NetOp "Screamingly Fast"

"NetOp is built for huge enterprise installations. Adding to the normal host and guest functions, NetOp offers a name server, security server, and gateway server (to negotiate communication between different protocols and communicate between the name server and the outside world). Unlike other remote-access systems, NetOp also builds in a way to queue and answer several help desk requests at any given time....An Inventory button brings up extremely detailed information about the host system, including pretty much everything you'd find in the Device Manager, plus lists of installed software and patches...On a LAN, NetOp is screamingly fast. It blazed through all my tests, performing file transfers at double the speed of the next-best entrant. On a high-speed connection, windows opened and closed almost instantly, and there was no perceptible delay in typing. As a dial-up solution, it tied for second."

PC Pro praises NetOp Security and Deployment

"Host...is easily installed on multiple systems using NetOp's deployment utility, which...supports all Windows systems. Platform support is superb, as NetOp includes hosts for Linux and Windows CE along with an ActiveX control for browser-based remote control. Security options are extensive too. Guests won't allow unprotected access and insist on a password, although you can set a global password at the guest to avoid having to enter it for each connection. If you want to beef this up, the optional Security Server offers support for NT domain authentication and Active Directory...Host inventory was good and we were particularly impressed with the levels of information about applications that NetOp gathered from our test systems. VERDICT: Excellent client deployment tools and tough security options. "
